Pioneering Spirit
Since its inception, Viña Morandé has been marked by the vision and pioneering spirit of its founder, Pablo Morandé.
Since its inception, Viña Morandé has been marked by the vision and pioneering spirit of its founder, Pablo Morandé. In 1996, after being the first to plant vines in the Casablanca Valley, Pablo founded the winery with a clear objective: to explore new territories, rescue Chile's wine-growing heritage, and produce wines with identity, honesty, and quality.
That bold spirit soon took shape in the creation of our “Aventuras” line, through which we seek to highlight the diversity of Chilean terroirs and revive ancient varieties cultivated in the dry inland regions of Maule and Itata. These areas have deep significance for us: Cauquenes is the birthplace of our founder and also the origin of many of our most iconic wines.

Innovation
Innovation has always been part of our DNA. In 2004, we pioneered high-density planting in Chile (more than 10,000 plants/ha), resumed the use of oak casks, incorporated cement eggs for fermentation, and committed to producing highly complex sparkling wines. We also explored new forms of oenological expression, from frozen grape wines to grappa-style distillates.

RICARDO BAETTIG
OENOLOGICAL DIRECTOR,
MORANDÉ WINES

Since 2011, Ricardo Baettig has led our winemaking team. An agricultural engineer and winemaker who studied in Italy and gained experience in Europe and Chile, Baettig has spearheaded a new era at Morandé, relaunching the “Aventuras” line and expanding the winery's horizons. Today, he heads a key project: a new experimental winery in Cachapoal, also called Bodega Aventuras, which will function as a true creative laboratory for our most innovative lines.
