Selección de Viñedos Gran Reserva: the commitment to create wines with identity of origin

This last time, we have made several changes in different brands of Viña Morandé. And it is that, without a doubt, time, experience and day-to-day work have shown us that it is necessary to make small adjustments to show what we are really doing in our fields and wineries.

This is how the pioneering and innovative spirit that has defined us from the beginning is undoubtedly reflected, and every day more, in our portfolio, of which we feel proud and satisfied. In this search to continue showing and reflecting our journey, we have made a change in our Estate Reserve line, which from now on will be called Gran Reserva Vineyard Selection. And it is that what we seek is to show our real commitment, to create wines with local identity, which faithfully express all the characteristics of its different terroirs.

This name change is mainly due to the importance of studying and choosing a specific vineyard, to identify the ideal place for a variety, which allows obtaining the maximum expression of its grapes. In the case of Selección de Viñedos Gran Reserva, we have focused mainly on two of the most recognized denominations of origin in Chile, such as Maipo and Casablanca, from which premium quality grapes are obtained with which we produce this line of the Gran Reserva category.

It is a very intense purple-red wine, with pronounced aromas of sour cherries, red cherries and black plums, with subtle floral notes of violets, as well as hints of coffee and dark chocolate. On the palate, it presents tremendous character, with juicy red fruit reminiscent of raspberries and cherries, with floral notes and toasted wood. In structure, Vigno is a young, tense wine, with great persistence, concentration and tannins that promise a long life ahead.
