Once Again the Best Chilean Carmenčre
Edición Limitada Carmenère 2006, Gold Medal and Trophy in “Best of Category” at the 6th Annual Wines of Chile Awards competition
The 6th Annual Wines of Chile Awards competition came to a close in a Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony in Santiago’s Casa Abarza on January 15, and by now it should be no surprise that there were certainly some surprises!
For example, 60% of the 446 wines—325 reds, 112 whites, and 8 rosés—in two price ranges—US$12–15.99 and US$16–$30) earned medals. There were 40 Gold Medals (91–100 points), 96 Silver Medals (87–90 points) and 141 Bronze Medals (84–86 points).
In addition, every year special categories are realised like “Best of Show”, “Best Price/Quality Ratio” and “Best of Category”, in which Morandé Edición Limitada Carmenère 2006 earn this appraised award like the best Carmenère of Chile.
